The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal stories - Pete Dunning

Added: 30/10/2014

Pete Dunning from Wallasey served with the Royal Marine Commandos. In May 2008, at the age of 23, he was hit by an IED explosion and lost both his legs in an IED explosion in Afghanistan, May 2008. We helped Pete during his rehabilitation, installing a wet room and making adaptions to his parent’s home to make day-to-day life easier.

Pete has been a proud supporter of the Legion as a volunteer for the Poppy Appeal and has collected thousands of pounds across his hometown. “I didn’t know The Royal British Legion helped people like me. The support that the Legion has offered me since my injury has been great. They are helping me to live my life as best I can.” Without your help, we couldn't support people like Pete.

So please make sure you wear your poppy with pride, knowing that you are helping the Armed Forces family to Live On.
